The history of Flat Cap Hotels

Our story so far
We've been on quite a journey for the last couple of years. We opened our first property in 2015 and, since then, have been slowly building our portfolio - renovating, restoring, and transforming two more venues into boutique hotels. Here's a brief overview of the Flat Cap story so far.

2015
Ye Olde Vicarage
The Birth of Flat Cap Hotels; Several years ago, we took on our first project, The Vicarage in Cranage. The derelict property, a 17th century Grade II listed property, had been closed for 5 years and was looking a little sorry for itself.
2016
The Vicarage
The Restaurant & Bar open to roaring trade as an all-day dining and lifestyle concept amalgamating the old-fashioned country pub with a quirky modern restaurant.
2017
The Sessions House
In 2016, we acquired The Sessions House in Knutsford; a historic courthouse in the centre of the town that dates back to 1818.
2017
The Courthouse Opens
After achieving full planning consent and for change of use to a Hotel with 42-bedrooms, we got to work. We spent a year transforming the interiors and reopened the property as The Courthouse (and to the general public) for the first time.
2018
The Courthouse
The stunning bedrooms open in the upstairs wings of the building converting former offices.
2018
The Bridge joins Flat Cap
The latest addition to our portfolio, The Bridge, was snapped up in 2018. The property underwent a full refurbishment during which we uncovered many of the building's original features such as oak beams and fireplaces.
2018
The Bridge Opens
The Bridge is now a popular spot amongst the Prestbury locals thanks to the relaxed atmosphere and excellent fine dining. It also offers wonderful event spaces for weddings, parties & corporate meets.
2019
Flat Cap Hotels
Investment into the infrastructure, culture and growth of the vital people that make up Flat Cap. We refine our training and begin developing the Flat Cap Academy to identify the manager of the future.
