Fabian Specht Revenue Optimisation Professional Of The Year
Charli Maggs, Revenue Manager at Flat Cap Hotels, has received a Shortlist for Fabian Specht Revenue Optimisation Professional Of The Year. Focussing on the Cheshire Staycation, the boutique bedrooms and locally sourced menu, Charli and Flat Cap Hotels have beaten the competition from hotel giants such as the likes of The Hilton and the Mariott.
Charli began her journey at Flat Cap Hotels in January of 2022 and quickly proved herself to be an incredible asset to the Senior Management team as Revenue Manager. Not only has she used her extensive knowledge and experience in Revenue Management to help grow the business exponentially, but she has also creatively led various marketing campaigns to ensure that Flat Cap Hotels is now firmly on the map for THE Cheshire staycation.
As Flat Cap’s revenue manager, Charli has shown creativity and initiative in the accommodation packages she has created over the course of the year, using her knowledge of marketing to target key trends, customer behaviours and dates for the local area, such as focussing on local festivals, forging a network of corporate clients that use the properties on business trips and for leisure guests.
Charli's most recent creation was the highly successful Flat Cap Advent Calendar which she created for social media; she designed the campaign not only drive traffic to the group’s social media pages but also to generate revenue across leisure and accommodation. Charli has had a profound impact in growing revenue in events through pricing, by reviewing previous data and using her hospitality background to support a revenue drive over key festive dates.
Charli is very much committed to talent development and has utilised the Flat Cap Academy training structure to identify the strengths of her teams and use her breadth of knowledge for talent development to further their roles within the company, she has furthered her colleagues understanding of revenue management with 1:1 training and more.
She keenly demonstrates a commitment to her own learning and development within the company by attending training away days, seminars and keeping a watchful eye on the local market and national market to ensure she not only keeps up with competitors but keeps abreast of all market segments.
Her incredible commitment to both the brand image and to driving revenue into the properties has meant that Flat Cap Hotels has a dynamic revenue strategy that would rival much bigger brands. She has influenced multiple areas of the business and has been a commercial, strategic leader assisting the board in modelling other opportunities as the business expands.
Serving in her role at a multi-property hotel brand, she certainly had her work cut out for her and has taken every challenge in her stride, including the full refurbishment of several bedrooms across the properties and an entire market repositioning.
